A closer look
Original cinema posters are an evocative record of film promotion. A single title can have several different posters depending on the release date, cinema territory, language and print format.
When collecting, check the paper, printing method, folds, measurements and markings. A modern reproduction is not the same thing as a poster produced for the film’s original theatrical release.
Collector’s notes
What to look for
- Look at release dates and country of origin.
- Examine condition, restoration and fold marks.
- Ask for provenance and clear photographs before buying.
This page is an educational introduction. No objects are offered for sale, and the artwork shown is illustrative rather than a photograph of an original film artefact.
