A closer look
Movie memorabilia spans far more than posters: autographs, scripts, press books, publicity stills, costume pieces and props can all reveal how a film was made, promoted and remembered.
The story attached to an item matters. For high-value pieces, documentation and a credible chain of ownership are particularly important; an unsupported claim of screen use should be treated cautiously.
Collector’s notes
What to look for
- Preserve paperwork and any provenance records.
- Avoid strong light, damp and unsuitable mounting materials.
- Research authentication standards for the particular type of item.
